Biography
The metal band WARRANT began its musical journey in the early 1980s in Düsseldorf, Germany.
In 1984 and 1985, the band released two successful records through the renowned metal label Noise Records, home to legendary acts such as Running Wild, Celtic Frost, Helloween, and Grave Digger. These releases were the mini-LP First Strike and the full-length album The Enforcer.
Today, both albums are regarded as cult classics, with many of their songs having been covered by numerous contemporary bands from the heavy metal, speed metal, and thrash metal scenes.
WARRANT has always stood for timeless, well-crafted songs. Their trademark sound combines memorable melodies, raw heaviness, instantly catchy choruses, and the unmistakable voice of frontman Jörg Juraschek.
The band disbanded in 1986. In 1999, WARRANT reunited for a one-off show at the Stadthalle Prüm. The overwhelming success of that performance convinced the band to continue playing selected live shows.
Since then, WARRANT has appeared three times at Wacken Open Air (1999, 2011, and 2017), as well as at festivals including Keep It True (KIT), Headbangers Open Air (HOA), Swordbrothers Festival, Mise Open Air, and numerous club and festival shows throughout Europe.
Founding member Jörg Juraschek, together with guitarist Michael Dietz and drummer Marius Lamm, has built a powerful lineup that successfully bridges the classic sound of the 1980s with a modern metal approach.
At the end of 2014, after nearly three decades, WARRANT released their third studio album, Metal Bridge, via Pure Steel Records / Soulfood. The album received consistently outstanding reviews, proving that the band’s legendary status had not diminished despite the long hiatus.
Although their career was interrupted for many years, WARRANT has continued to evolve musically while staying true to its roots. The band has always been, and remains, a song-oriented metal act without unnecessary embellishments. Their straightforward, no-frills approach—very much in the spirit of bands like Motörhead—continues to define their sound.
